Police have warned commuters of a gang of robbers offering lifts to different destinations in order to rob passengers.
The gang is moving around with a red Honda Fit.
Writing on their Twitter handle police said: “Police in Harare are appealing for information which may assist in the investigations of two robbery cases which occurred in Harare where four unknown suspects travelling in a red Honda Fit, registration number AFD 8585, robbed the complainants after offering them a lift.”
The robbers got away with an assortment of goods and cash.
In another incident, the gang offered two Mureha-bound commuters a lift around midnight on Wednesday before stealing from them.
“In another incident, which occurred on 24/11/22 at around 0015 hours, the suspects offered a lift to two complainants, who were going to Murewa, at corner of Fifth Street and Samora Machel Avenue, before attacking them and stealing two cellphones and US$165 cash,” police said.
