Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place at a financial institution in Beatrice Township on Saturday morning. The Zimbabwe Republic Police is appealing to the public for assistance in tracking down the culprits.
According to a police statement, the robbery occurred around 9:00 AM on January 11, 2025. Three masked men, armed with pistols, entered the financial institution and demanded keys to the teller's booth. After gaining access, the suspects stole US$3 500 in cash and three cellphones.
Before fleeing the scene in a silver-grey Toyota Sienta with no registration plates, the robbers locked the teller inside the booth.
The ZRP has urged anyone with information about the incident to report to their nearest police station.
"The Zimbabwe Republic Police is investigating a case of robbery that occurred at Beatrice Township on January 11, 2025. Three unidentified male suspects armed with pistols and wearing face masks forcibly entered a local financial institution, stole cash and cellphones, and locked the teller in the booth before escaping in a Silver Grey Toyota Sienta.
Anyone with information is encouraged to report to the nearest police station," the ZRP stated.
