Three people died when a bus they were travelling on was involved in a head-on collision with a Toyota Wish at the 65km peg along the Roy-Chiredzi highway yesterday.
The bus was carrying 50 passengers when the accident occurred while the Toyota Wish had four occupants.
The bodies of the deceased were taken to St Anthony’s Musiso Mission Hospital mortuary while one seriously injured person is admitted at the same catholic-run health facility.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirmed the accident.
“The ZRP reports a fatal road traffic accident in which three people died and one person was seriously injured when a Zhong Tong bus with 50 passengers on board had a head-on collision with a Toyota wish vehicle with four occupants on board at the 65 km peg along the Roy-Chiredzi Road. The bodies were taken to Musiso Hospital mortuary for post-mortem whilst the injured is admitted at the same hospital,” police said on their official Twitter handle.
