9 killed in Blue Circle, City Bus accident

At least nine people were killed while 39 others were injured in a road traffic accident involving a Blue Circle bus City Bus, police have confirmed.

Yet-to-be-confirmed reports said the accident fatalities had reached 11.

The fatal road traffic accident occurred in the early hours of today at today at around 0100 hours around the Tshamunanga area in Lutumba – at the 267 kilometre peg along the Masvingo-Beitbridge Road - where a City Bus en route to Harare collided with a Blue Circle bus travelling towards Beitbridge.

The bodies of the victims were taken to Beitbridge District General Hospital mortuary for post mortem while the injured are admitted at the same medical facility.
