Police say they have arrested both local man and Chinese man in viral video

The Zimbabwe Republic Police has arrested both the Zimbabwean who stabbed a Chinese man and the Chinese man who brandished a pistol in a labour dispute gone awry.

Police said both individuals are now facing criminal charges.

According to the ZRP statement, Kholwani Dube, 38, a Zimbabwean excavator operator, stabbed a Chinese national in the leg with an okapi knife at Bijou Farm in Lower Gweru.

The stabbing occurred during a labor dispute after the Chinese national reportedly pointed a firearm at Dube.

This latest development aligns with Ming Chang Sino-Africa Mining Investments P/L's earlier statement, which detailed the sequence of events leading to the altercation.

The company had claimed Dube acted dangerously by attempting to use an excavator to attack supervisors and the farm manager before escalating the situation further.

In a separate incident on January 22, Mthahandazo Sibanda, 20, was shot by a Chinese national at Binyup 5 Mine in Filabusi.

Sibanda was allegedly attempting to steal a gold dump when the Chinese individual fired a 9mm Derya pistol.

The shooter has been arrested by police, and investigations are underway.

ZRP Commissioner Nyathi urged the public and media to remain patient as the police gather facts in both cases. “More details will be released in due course as investigations progress,” the statement noted.
