The Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe, His Excellency Mr. Zhou Ding, hailed the remarkable impact of the Professional Women, Women Executives and Business Women’s Forum (PROWEB) as the organization officially launched its 20th-anniversary celebrations on Friday night.
Speaking at the event, Ambassador Zhou emphasized China’s commitment to supporting women’s economic empowerment and strengthening partnerships that advance gender equality in Zimbabwe. His remarks resonated deeply with the evening’s theme, “20 Years of Impact: From Empowerment to Prosperity,” underscoring PROWEB’s dedication to transforming women’s roles in business, leadership, and economic development.
The milestone event brought together government officials, corporate leaders, development partners, and PROWEB members for an evening of inspiration and strategic visioning for the next two decades.
PROWEB Executive Director Catherine Nyatara presented on the organization’s transformative journey while Founding Trustee Mrs Susan Makore took the audience back to the roots of PROWEB, sharing the vision that led to its formation.
A poignant moment of the evening was the tribute to the late Mrs. Florence Ziumbe, honoring her contributions to women’s empowerment.
In addition to Ambassador Zhou’s address, diplomatic representatives from Egypt and Turkey—Ms. Meena Mustaf and Ms. Sultan Okatar—extended their congratulations and support for women’s economic advancement. The solidarity from the international community highlighted the global significance of PROWEB’s mission.
Hon. Senator Monica Mutsvangwa, delivering the keynote address, reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to policies that uplift women entrepreneurs and professionals, reinforcing PROWEB’s strategic role in Zimbabwe’s economic landscape.

As PROWEB embarks on its next chapter, the organization is inviting women professionals, executives, and business leaders to join its network and leverage opportunities in mentorship, training, and business development.
