The Zimbabwe Women's National Football Team, the Mighty Warriors, received a significant boost of encouragement from Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) Vice President Loveness Mukura as they gear up for their Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers next week.
Mukura, a former star player for Herentals Queens and a respected football administrator, visited the team during their training session at Prince Edward School on Thursday. Her words of support and confidence resonated with the players, igniting a renewed sense of determination as they prepare to represent their nation.
"We have a strong and formidable team," Mukura declared, her voice filled with conviction. "I believe we will play together, encourage one another, and win. In football, be each other’s keeper. You are carrying the national flag, so go and do your best. This is the cream of the nation."
Mukura's address served as a powerful reminder of the responsibility and honor that comes with wearing the national jersey. Her emphasis on unity, mutual support, and unwavering belief in their abilities struck a chord with the Mighty Warriors, reinforcing their commitment to excel in the upcoming qualifiers.
She was accompanied by fellow Vice President Kenny Ndebele, ZIFA board member Kudzai Kadzombe and Women’s league chairperson Theresa Maguraushe
