Bulawayo Man Arrested for Cocaine, Ecstasy Dealing

Zim Now Writer

A 42-year-old man, Gary Bell, has been arraigned before the Bulawayo Regional Magistrates’ Court on charges of unlawfully dealing in dangerous drugs.

Bell was arrested following a surveillance operation by CID Drugs and Narcotics, Harare, acting on a tip-off.

The operation took place on February 14, 2025, at Smoke House Bar in Burnside, where Bell arrived in a silver Toyota double cab (AFX 2911).

Upon disembarking, he was searched, leading to the discovery of four sachets of cocaine and five ecstasy pills on his person. Additional drugs, including two more sachets of cocaine, were found in his vehicle.

A subsequent search at Bell’s residence uncovered further quantities of cocaine hidden inside a jewelry box within a wardrobe. Law enforcement officers also seized digital weighing scales and razor blades smeared with cocaine residue, which are commonly associated with drug processing and distribution.

Authorities estimate the street value of the seized cocaine at US$480, while the ecstasy pills are valued at US$60.

Bell was denied bail and remanded in custody until March 10, 2025, as he awaits trial.
