Two individuals, Munyaradzi Zacharia, 38, and Theresa Chenjerai, 48, were arrested for trying to bribe a police detective to lie under oath in court regarding a series of armed robbery cases involving their friend, Tapiwa Marazanye.
The were remanded in custody until today, March 3 for a bail hearing when they appeared before a Norton magistrate.
According to prosecutor Thomas Chanakira, the pair conspired in January to bribe the investigating officer handling 15 robbery cases linked to Marazanye.
Zacharia was sent to deliver a $150 bribe to the detective, but the police had set a trap.
He was arrested immediately after handing over the money and implicated Chenjerai, leading to her arrest as well.
