During the robbery, the suspects, armed with firearms, broke into the Glen Lorne residence of Robert Edwin and Lyn Coventry. The couple was held hostage as the robbers tied their hands and legs with shoelaces before ransacking the property.
The gang stole cash and valuables worth over US$90 000. Among the stolen items were US$15,000 in cash, jewellery valued at US$60 000, three hair dryers, Coventry’s Olympic swimsuits, travel bags, hearing aids worth US$5 000, and three hunting rifles.
Police have since recovered some of the stolen property, which is expected to be presented in court as evidence.
