Woman in Court for Stealing Bank Card, Shopping at 14 Outlets

A Marlborough woman has appeared in court on allegations of stealing a bank card and going on a shopping spree across Harare.

Sarah Madzivadondo ,31, appeared before Harare magistrate Rufaro Pavanhu charged with theft. She was remanded in custody.

According to the State, represented by prosecutor Polite Chikiwa, between October 3, 2024, and January 31, 2025, Madzivadondo allegedly used the complainant’s CABS swipe card to purchase goods worth ZWG$18,325.30 from 14 different outlets around the city.

She is also accused of withdrawing US$1 000 twice from the complainant’s nostro account using a CABS ATM, bringing the total value of the stolen funds to US$2,000 and ZWG$18,325.30.

The matter is still under investigation.
