President Mnangagwa Urges Zimbabweans to Reject Division and Discord

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has called on Zimbabweans to reject division and discord, emphasizing the importance of national unity for sustainable social and economic development. Speaking on his behalf at the Zion Christian Church (ZCC) Easter Service in Masvingo Province, Minister of Local Government and Public Works, Honourable Daniel Garwe, highlighted the President's message.

The President stressed that unity is a powerful force that strengthens collective will and transforms groups into engines of greater success and development. "One people, one Zimbabwe," he emphasized, urging Zimbabweans to pursue unity that knows no boundaries, religion, tribe, race, color, age, or geography.

The President reminded congregants that love and forgiveness are essential for breaking down barriers and fostering peace and unity. Citing the book of Matthew, he emphasized the importance of being peacemakers and reflecting God's character. "Easter is not only a celebration of Christ's victory over death, but a constant reminder of the call to be peacemakers," he said.

The President urged the nation and the Church to recognize and harness individual and collective capacities to propel socio-economic development, modernization, and industrialization. He emphasized the need for Zimbabweans to demonstrate unfailing love for their country and work towards creating communities where peace and unity flourish.

The President also prayed for peace to prevail in the SADC region and throughout the continent and the world, where people are experiencing conflict, displacement, insecurity, and instability.
