Zimbabwe Cricket has confirmed that Sri Lanka will visit Zimbabwe for a limited-overs series comprising two One Day Internationals and three Twenty20 Internationals.
The series will begin with the ODIs on 29 and 31 August, followed by the T20Is in early September. All matches will be played at Harare Sports Club.
Zimbabwe Cricket Managing Director Givemore Makoni welcomed the tour, saying, “We are delighted to confirm Sri Lanka’s visit to Zimbabwe for what we expect to be a thrilling and competitive series. Matches between our two nations have always produced entertaining cricket, and this tour comes at a crucial time for our team as we prepare for the upcoming T20 World Cup qualifying campaign.”
Zimbabwe will host the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa Regional Final from 19 September to 4 October. The regional qualifier will determine the final two African spots for the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, to be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.
The last encounter between the Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka sides was in January 2024, when Sri Lanka won the ODI series 2-0 on home soil. Squads for the upcoming series are yet to be announced.
This white-ball series promises to be an exciting contest as both teams fine-tune their squads ahead of major upcoming tournaments.
Zimbabwe is also set to host South Africa for a two-Test series, followed by a tri-series involving New Zealand and the Proteas.
