The Zimbabwe Republic Police has arrested Blessing Kennes ,28, in connection with a high-profile case of unlawful entry and theft in Springville, Ruwa, where cash and valuables worth US$190?000 were stolen on 6 June 2025.
Kennes, together with his accomplice, Remember Glademore Fambaunone—who is still at large—allegedly broke into a house and stole US$182,050 in cash, a Samsung S23 Ultra cellphone, a Derya pistol, and two magazines loaded with 15 rounds of ammunition.
On 13 August 2025, detectives from the CID Homicide Unit tracked Kennes to Tsiga Area in Mbare, Harare, where he was arrested. Police recovered US$20,250 in cash and a Derya pistol, as well as a Toyota Nadia vehicle suspected to have been purchased with proceeds from the theft.
Further investigations revealed that Fambaunone allegedly acquired a property in Crowhill, Harare, for US$10,000, bought a Nissan NV350 vehicle for US$14,300, and gave his mother US$5,600 for safekeeping in Mhundirwa Village, Rusape.
Police have so far recovered cash and property worth US$55,150.
ZRP spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi urged the public to assist with information that could lead to the arrest of Fambaunone.
