Zimbabwe have recalled seasoned campaigners Sean Williams and Brendan Taylor for the three-match T20 International series against Sri Lanka, which begins on Wednesday at Harare Sports Club.

Williams, who last featured in the shortest format against Bangladesh in May 2024, brings valuable all-round ability to the side, while Taylor’s return after a lengthy absence adds both experience and stability at the top order.

Their comebacks have been warmly welcomed by captain Sikandar Raza, who expressed delight at having two of Zimbabwe’s most experienced players back in the mix.

"We are very blessed and happy that they are back. It’s nice having their experience coming into T20 cricket," Raza said ahead of the series.

Alongside the veteran duo, Brad Evans and Tadiwanashe Marumani have also been included, while Newman Nyamhuri, Wessly Madhevere, Vincent Masekesa and Tafadzwa Tsiga miss out from the squad that recently contested the triangular series against New Zealand and South Africa.

The three matches against Sri Lanka, scheduled for Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday, will all be played at Harare Sports Club.

With Williams and Taylor bolstering the lineup, Zimbabwe will be looking to fine-tune their combinations and build a consistent core as they aim for success both in the series and on the road toward global qualification.
