Zimbabwe Women advanced to the semi-finals of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier 2025 with a resounding 10-wicket win over Nigeria Women in Windhoek on Wednesday.
Josephine Nkomo delivered a match-winning spell, taking five wickets for just six runs as Nigeria crumbled to 90 all out.
Only Blessing Etim (25) and Oseyande Omonkhobio (16) offered resistance, but Nkomo’s precision dismantled the batting order and left Zimbabwe firmly in control.
Chasing 91, Zimbabwe’s openers made light work of the target. Kelis Ndhlovu struck an unbeaten 44, while Modester Mupachikwa added 36 not out, guiding their side to victory in 14.2 overs without losing a wicket.
The win, Zimbabwe’s third straight in Group A after earlier triumphs over Namibia and Sierra Leone, confirmed their spot in the semi-finals, where they will face Uganda on Thursday.
With the finalists earning places at next year’s global qualifier in Nepal, Zimbabwe’s hopes of reaching the T20 World Cup remain firmly on track.
