The Pan African Shotokan Karate-do Federation has said they were impressed by Zimbabwean multi-award winning martial artist Shihan Wilfred Mashaya who they invited to South Africa, Gauteng, to teach and share his expertise in weapons, ninjutsu and self defence.
The host and seminar organiser Kyoshi Michael Cindi Mailula spoke highly of Mashaya’s talent saying,
“As the Federation, we are greatly impressed by Mashaya’s vast knowledge in various martial arts styles he showcased at the seminar. The way he shared the knowledge was top class and commendable.
“We appreciate that we have a multi-award winning martial artist from our neighbouring country, Zimbabwe, and we feel that it is high time we need to incorporate his expertise to fellow South Africans without looking at boarders or boundaries but at talent,” said Cindi.
Mashaya was invited by South Africa top karate master Kyoshi Michael Cindi Mailula who has a seventh dan black belt in Shotokan Karate who was the host and also leading the martial arts seminar.
Various martial artists who participated in the seminar appreciated the knowledge they got from Zimbabwean first Zimbabwe’s ninja, Mashaya.
Mashaya is a holder of four black belts in Kyokushin Karate, Bujinkan Ninjutsu, Kobudo (weapons) and Self Defense.
At the end of the seminar, which was conducted over the weekend, Zim Ninja Mashaya was presented with a Certificate of appreciation, the South African flag, a South African scarf and a medal of honour and respect.
The Pan African Shotokan Karate-do Federation was the hosting organisation under Kyoshi Michael Cindi Mailula who is a well experienced master of many decades in Karate and a great achiever.
Cindi is looking forward to engage Mashaya in their future Martial Arts programmes for the advancement and development of Martial Arts in Southern Africa and the continent at large.
“We hope we are going to work together in conducting other seminars. I will book him next year late February for the Eastern Cape seminar,” Cindi said.
Cindi challenged African countries to appreciate their own.
“If other European countries are appreciating and awarding Mashaya and Africa, why can't we do the same?
“Such expertise and achievements from a fellow African need to be cherished and be complimented. It makes us proud as Africans especially from Southern Africa, to realise that we have one of our own who has travelled around the world conquering and also getting knowledge in martial arts,” said Cindi.
The Zimbabwean Ninja is expected back in Zimbabwe on Wednesday, December 22.
