
A 19-year-old man from Zimunya Township, Mutare, has been sentenced to perform 175 hours of community service after being convicted of bestiality involving a hen. The offender, Carrington Mutasa, will avoid jail time on the condition that he completes the community service.

Initially, Mutasa was sentenced to an eight-month prison term. However, the court suspended three months for five years. The remaining five months were then set aside, contingent on him completing the community service.
The incident took place on September 16 at approximately 5:30 PM. According to court records, Mutasa unlawfully entered a homestead in Zimunya Village and went into the fowl run. A minor witnessed the act and reported it to the hen's owner, leading to Mutasa's arrest.
