Chinese Ambassador meets with War Vets Minister

On October 31, Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Zhou Ding,  met with Monica Mavhunga, Zimbabwe’s Minister of Veterans of Liberation Struggle, joined by Deputy Minister Headman Moyo and Permanent Secretary Albert Chikondo.

Ambassador Zhou outlined China’s veteran-affairs work and exchanged views with Minister Mavhunga on how the two countries might deepen cooperation in that field.

He referenced the recently concluded Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (20–23 October) which mapped China’s next five-year economic and social blueprint — a signal that China is keen to continue sharing development opportunities.

Highlighting their “all-weather community with a shared future”, he reaffirmed China’s readiness to implement key consensus reached by the two countries’ heads of state, deepen the traditional friendship and expand mutually beneficial cooperation.

Minister Mavhunga in turn congratulated China on its development achievements and thanked China for its longstanding, selfless assistance and support to Zimbabwe. She noted her ministry is ready to enhance exchanges in veteran affairs and beyond, and to draw on China’s experience to help advance Zimbabwe’s Vision 2030.
