Chitungwiza Municipality has announced the appointment of a new chamber secretary following years of the post having been occupied on an acting basis.
Japson Nemuseso, according to the local authority’s Public Relations department, successfully went through the interviews that were recently conducted by the Local Government Board which, thereafter, made the recommendation that he had been selected for his distinct experience and exposure. He assumed duty on January 3.
Since the suspension and subsequent firing of Mary Rashamira Mukonyora three years ago, the office has had a number of persons occupying it, but on an acting basis.
“We are glad to officially announce to you that following the recently conducted interviews to recruit a chamber secretary, Mr Japson Nemuseso came out tops,” said a statement from the P.R.O, Lovemore Meya on Friday, January 6.
Chitungwiza has had many top management positions held on an acting basis, a development residents attributed to the lack of progress as no substantive resolutions could be made in most circumstances.
Following the suspension of the mayor Lovemore Maiko, whose cases of misconduct are still before the Local Government Ministry, Clr Kiven Mutimbanyoka is acting.
After former town clerk Dr George Makunde parted ways with CM in what the LGB labelled “irreparable and irreconcilable differences” with it, Evangelista Machona has been acting in the position. She has rotated the post with Engineer David Duma and Health Services department director, Dr Tonderai Kasu.
Until recently, other positions being acted on were that of Housing and Community Services as well as the Department of Works.
