The Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency will conduct the Quarterly Labour Force Survey (QLFS) Household Listing exercise between January 11-17.
The main objective of the listing exercise is to facilitate selection of households that will be covered in the QLFS.
In a statement, ZIMSTAT said the survey will be conducted in selected enumeration areas across all the 10 provinces of Zimbabwe.
“During the survey, Zimstat supervisors, team leaders and enumerators will be in the field interviewing a scientific sample of households and all will be carrying official identification letters.
“The QLFS which is conducted under the Census and Statistics Act (Chapter 10:29) of 2007 provides high frequency labour market statistics to inform planning, human capital development strategies, compilation of Quarterly Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and decision making among other key uses,” reads the statement.
The survey also provides key labour market indicators which include, but are not limited to, employment levels - both formal and informal - unemployment, labour underutilisation, income levels and labour immigration.
Zimstat also want to be able to estimate the job losses that have occurred during the three months prior to the survey interview date.
The information collected is strictly confidential and will be used for statistical purposes only.
Field personnel will carry letters and identity cards for ease of identification.
