
A violent altercation erupted inside a taxi in Borrowdale, Harare, after a self-employed woman allegedly stabbed a driver multiple times with a kitchen knife following a dispute over a pick-up.
Michelle Nhukarume (25), of Brookview, Borrowdale, appeared before the Harare Magistrates’ Court facing an assault charge.
The complainant, Godwin Mikiri (26), a taxi driver operating on the inDrive platform, sustained injuries to his chest and hands during the incident.
According to court proceedings, Nhukarume had hired Mikiri to transport her to an address on Gumble Close in Borrowdale, claiming she needed to pick up someone identified only as Herry.

It is alleged that after arriving at the location, Mikiri waited for more than an hour while Nhukarume repeatedly made excuses preventing him from leaving, allegedly promising to top up the fare.
The situation reportedly escalated when Nhukarume exited the vehicle to answer a phone call before returning and attacking Mikiri with a kitchen knife, stabbing him in the chest and hands.
A struggle ensued, during which Mikiri managed to overpower Nhukarume and disarm her.
Passersby later came to Mikiri’s assistance, and he was taken to a nearby clinic for medical treatment. Nhukarume was subsequently arrested and taken to a police station.
