Mbare magistrate Nyasha Vitorini yesterday spared former television personality Oscar Pambuka from serving another prison term after sentencing him to a wholly suspended one-year jail term for attempted fraud.

The magistrate suspended the 12 months for three years on condition that Pambuka does not commit another offence involving dishonesty.

Pambuka appeared in court following his arrest after he attempted to dupe Croco Motors director Moses Chingwena of R36 000.

In sentencing Pambuka, Vitorini said he noted that he had not benefitted from the offence.

He also remarked that the jail term he was currently serving for the 2018 fraud case, which also involved former legislator Psychology Mazivisa, would do justice and keep him out of crime.
