
Bottom-placed Central Region Soccer League side Matobo FC are facing uncertainty amid growing concerns over unpaid salaries and bonuses, with fears emerging that frustrated players and members of the technical team could resort to drastic action.
Already enduring a difficult campaign on the field, the club's off-field troubles have added to the challenges facing the Matabeleland outfit. Sources close to the team say players and technical staff have reportedly gone for more than three months without receiving their salaries and winning bonuses, leaving some struggling to meet their daily financial obligations.
The delays are understood to have affected morale within the camp at a time when Matobo FC desperately need positive results to revive their season. Frustration has reportedly been building among both players and members of the technical department, raising concerns over the possibility of a boycott should the matter remain unresolved.

"Some of the players are finding it difficult to cope because this is their only source of income. There is growing frustration within the camp and if the issue is not addressed soon, there are fears that some members of the team could take drastic measures," a source close to the club said.
Although no official decision has been taken, the situation has sparked anxiety within the camp, who fear that any disruption to training or matchday preparations could further derail the club's fight to escape the foot of the table.
Club officials are believed to be aware of the growing discontent and are expected to engage with the affected parties in a bid to find a solution.
