A Ziscosteel security manager died on Friday after jumping from the fifth floor of the company's office building in a suspected suicide.

Midlands provincial spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko said police were investigating the case.

“Police confirms investigating a suspected suicide case involving a 65-year-old man who is believed to have jumped from the top of a building in Redcliff, Kwekwe,” said Insp Mahoko.

According to police, Michael Mangachena reported for his security guard duties on the day at 1630 hours.

Mangachena, of Torwood in Redcliff, "sustained multiple fractures on the head and legs. He died on the spot".

His body was taken to Kwekwe General Hospital mortuary.

Insp Mahoko added that people must seek counselling instead of taking their own lives.
