A Msasa Park man who was arrested after assaulting his father had his woes doubled after he was found with Crystal Methamphetamine.
Brian Matendawafa, 39, of Msasa Park was at the Harare Magistrates' Court charged with contravening Section 14(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act, Chapter 15:02 and assault as defined in Section 4(3)(a)(1) of the Domestic Violence.
The court heard that on February 4, at around 01:00 hours, Matendawafa had a misunderstanding with his father Elliot Matendawafa.
Brain assaulted Elliot using open hands.
When Brian was arrested for the assault he was found with one sachet that later tested positive for crystal methamphetamine.
Magistrate Dennis Mangosi who presided over the matter postponed the matter to February 20, 2023.
In another drug related case, Mr Mangosi heard the case of Blessing Paradza, 32, of Sunningdale who stands accused of unlawful possession of dangerous drugs as defined in Section 157(1) of the Criminal Law Codification and Reform Act, Chapter 9:23.
The State alleged that, on February 4, around 11:00 police searched Blessing Paradza's house and discovered 24 sachets and 9 twists of dagga in a plastic bag.
Paradza admitted to the possession of the drugs and implicated his brother Shepherd Paradza claiming that he was the owner of the drugs.
Paradza appeared before magistrate Dennis Mangosi who remanded him to April 5, 2023 pending trial.
