Two Mufakose drug dealers have been arrested following an undercover operation in the area by Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission investigators.
Prince Tapiwa "Jah Rule" Samuriwo, 35, and Humphrey Banda, 44, were arrested after being found with a plastic bag containing 83gr of crystal methamphetamine, drug dealing paraphernalia and US$4 352.
ZACC carried out surveillance in the communities and established that crystal was being sold in Mufakose.
The team identified the two men as dealers plying their illegal trade from a Mercedes Benz C200.
On January 3, an undercover agent scored 3 grams of the crystal meth from the two. During the transaction the agent saw that the crystal meth was in the boot of the car.
A backup team then approached Samuriwo and Banda and identified themselves as law enforcement officers.
Samuriwo and Banda allegedly became hostile and tried to escape. The officers subdued the two and carried out body searches as well as a sweep of the vehicle.
The team recovered the plastic bag full of crystal methamphetamine from the boot. They also found a digital scale used for weighing, a black okapi knife, 4 used empty plastic sachets and 22 unused packing sachets for packing.
ZACC is alleging that the US$4 352 found in the car is from selling the crystal meth, thus revenue from criminal activity and forfeitable to the State.
The two appeared in court accused of unlawful dealing with dangerous drugs as defined in Section 156.
They were also charged with money laundering, contravening Section 8 of the money laundering and crime Act, Chapter 9:24.
Magistrate Dennis Mangosi postponed their bail application to today (Friday).
