The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority has announced new fuel prices that are effective from yesterday (March, 6 2023.)
The energy regulator said petrol will be sold at US$1.62 or ZW$1 455.32 up from US$1.59 or ZW$1 241.01 per litre announced in January 2023.
The authority also said the retail price for diesel is now US$1.67 or ZW$1 499.26 down from US$1.68 or ZW$1 315.09.
Around the world, the average price of diesel is USD$1.29 per litre while the average price of petrol USD$1.30 per litre.
According to GlobalPetrolPrices.com, the differences in prices across countries are due to the various taxes and subsidies for diesel.
