Frank Makarati named DeMbare captain

Frank Makarati has been named the new Dynamos captain ahead of the 2023 Premier Soccer League season, which begins on March 18.

Zim Now had reported in December that the experienced defender will captain the Glamour Boys as part of his contract.

The 28-year-old star takes over from fellow central defender Partson Jaure, who left the club when his contract expired at the end of last season.

Makarati had a fantastic season in 2022, which show him being voted as one of the best 11 players in the premier league.

The defender wanted to leave the country, but DeMbare tabled a good offer, which will see him driving a Ford Ranger.

He will be deputised by pint-sized right-back, Emmanuel Jalai, who arrived at the club in 2019, initially on a loan transfer from Aces Youth Academy.

Second vice-captain is the experienced former Warriors defender Kevin Moyo, who recently joined the Harare giants from Bulawayo Chiefs.
