President Emmerson Mnangagwa has announced that the ruling party, ZANU PF, will hold its primary elections in a week’s time as it prepares the ground for harmonised elections slated for later this year.
He made the announcement during an ordinary session of the Politburo on Thursday, March 9, adding the roadmap for the primaries would soon be announced by the party’s political commissar, Dr Mike Bimha.
“We as ZANU PF will begin internal primary elections from next week. Our commissar Dr Mike Bimha will give the programme,” he said.
Preparations for the primaries, he said, should be conducted in a fair and transparent manner.
