There was a hive of activity in Banket where the Dynamos Division 2 side took on Northern Region Division One team Banket United.
The event was sponsored by a Zanu-PF-affiliate organisation, Forever Associates Zimbabwe.
Besides the football match, there was entertainment from musicians such as Phone yaBaba Imhiripiri hit maker, Romeo Gasa.
One of the sponsors, Winnie Jessica Tapfumaneyi, said that she was happy that DeMbare accepted their invitation to play against Banket United and the activity was also aimed at fighting drug and substance abuse among young people.
“We are very happy that Dynamos accepted our invitation, remember the President has been saying, ‘leaving no one and no place behind’ and DeMbare is here today we are so happy.
“Vendors also benefited from this initiative, everyone benefited our main goal is fight drug and substance abuse among young people and also support the vision of President Mnangagwa,” Tapfumaneyi told reporters.
Speaking after the match Dynamos Division 2 coach, Lloyd Chigowe said that he was impressed by his charges.
“Playing against a Division side, I think our boys accounted for themselves very well, it is now a question of fitness levels that saw us failing to cross the line but overally, I am satisfied.
“Dynamos is on the right trajectory and if we do well with the development side, we will have a best first team,” Chigowe said.
Banket United coach, Selestino Chikaka said the game gave them a good run and he was happy with the performance of his players.
“We are in the pre-season and I am happy with the performance, it is a matter of preparing for the next season, the game gave my players confidence,” Chikaka said.
