Author Abel Mavura, who is also a social justice advocate and development practitioner, yesterday celebrated his birthday with the needy at Tamuka Foundation in Kuwadzana.
Tamuka Foundation is home to over 35 underprivileged children aged between three and 18 years.
Speaking to Zimbabwe Now, Mavura confirmed he had a mini-party with the kids.
“I have been doing this on each of my birthdays to celebrate with the needy. The donation was part of my annual charity work.
“So far, I have donated different products including bicycles and school uniforms at Mother of Peace in Mutoko and at Tamuka Foundation I have been donating some food and clothes at different occasions,” he said.
He said he donated foodstuffs and clothes he got from friends and well-wishers.
“I pushed the drive on social media and some people called me to donate,” he said.
Last year, Mavura was among the 16 men honoured as gender champions for contributing towards ending violence against women.
Mavura is also the founder of Marvel Acts Youth Organisation of Zimbabwe Trust.
In December 2022, MAYO joined hands with the Women of Prayer International Ministry to donate clothes and food to children at Tamuka Foundation in Kuwadzana.
