A Masvingo kombi driver has been sentenced to three years in jail by provincial magistrate Farai Gwitima having sexual intercourse with a minor.
Trymore Shayanewako, 20, was convicted on Friday after a full trial but insisted that he paid the minor to have sexual intercourse.
He had sexual intercourse with the minor in a kombi at Victoria High School grounds for three days.
Shayanewako proposed love to the minor aroound 730pm on January 9 at Sisk shops.
The minor accepted the proposal, and later that day, Shayanewako drove his kombi to Victoria High School grounds and had sexual intercourse with the minor.
The two continued having sexual intercourse at the same venue until January 13, when Shayanewako left the minor alone at the grounds.
He gave her a cell phone and drove the kombi, saying he was going to look for money.
A passerby saw the minor around 7:30pm and she opened up to the woman, who accompanied her to file a report at Rhodhene Police Base.
