An Eastview man who was arrested by a group of residents after being found in someone's house has appeared in court

Taonga Makuvire of Phase 4 Eastview appeared before magistrate Dennis Mangosi at the Harare Magistrates' Court accused of unlawful entry.

The complainant in the matter is Keith Sumani, 19, also of Eastview.

The State, through prosecutor Zororai Nkomo, alleges that on May 5, 2023, Sumani left his house locked and went about his business.

When he returned, he was told by one Elizabeth Muposa that Makuvire was in his house.

Sumani went and mobilised a group of residents and arrested Makuvire whilst he was at his house.

Makuvire was taken by the group to Gazebo Police Station.

Police records were checked and it was discovered that Makuvire was also wanted in connection with four other outstanding cases.

Magistrate Mangosi ordered Makuvire to return to court on June 20, 2023.
