A Highfield man has been remanded in custody after being found in possession of dangerous drugs.

Marshal Mupanduki, 39, of Western Triangle in Harare appeared before magistrate Dennis Mangosi accused of possessing dangerous drugs.

The State alleges that on June 1, 2023, around 2000 hours the police were informed that Mupanduki had Crystal Methamphetamine at his home.

The detectives from CID Drugs and Narcotics visited and found him seated in an unregistered white Toyota Harrier which was parked in his yard.

They identified themselves and informed him of their mission. Body searches were done on him leading to the seizure of 10 sachets of Methylenedioxymethamphetamine from his right trousers' pocket.

Searches were also done in the car but nothing was recovered.

Mupanduki was subsequently arrested. He was escorted to CID Drugs and Narcotics Harare together with the seized Methylenedioxymethamphetamine where a field test was conducted in his presence and it tested positive to Methamphetamine.

The Methylenedioxymethamphetamine was weighed and recorded approximately 5 grammes with a street value of the ZWL$150 000.

He was remanded in custody.
