Zim dancehall musician Qounfuzed, who is based in the United Kingdom, has cleared the air over the confusion generated at the Zimbabwe Music Awards held last Saturday.
This follows the awards organisers’ decision to snub him from the nomination list.
Qounfuzed said he was contacted by the ZIMA representatives to submit his work.
He was told that a technical error occurred, leading to him not being nominated in any of the categories.
“I did submit my work days before the nomination, but when the nominees list was out, my name wasn’t there.
“I contacted the ZIMA offices and was told that they would address the issue.
“I kept calling them asking what had happened and how it was going to be fixed but it was lies after lies,” he said.
He added:
“Later on, the ZIMA 23 organisers gave me a guy to talk to whose name is Marshall and the guy told me he was busy.
“That was the end of our conversation.
“I was then contacted by Kushy and he told me that my name was now included on the nomination list.
“When I talked to Kushy he said my name was going to be in the Song of the Year category.
“I even asked about the whole process, who determines the winner, but I was told not to worry.
“I have had about 40 phone calls with them, when the awards ended I told them that I was going to post everything on Facebook, that is when they issued a statement to apologise.”
