Unlawful entry-charged man used duplicate keys to enter access company property

 An Avondale man who stole from Elaine Solar Africa after he had made duplicates of the keys to their offices has appeared in court.

Oliver Saunyamuwera, 23, appeared before the Harare Magistrates' Court charged with unlawful entry into premises.

The State alleges that on June 27, 2023 at number 64B Connaught Road, Avondale, Saunyamuwera went to Elaine Solar Africa and used duplicate keys to open the doors.

When he got inside, he proceeded to the accounts office and took US$32 which was kept in a cash box left on top of a desk by one Leah Bonde.

From there, Saunyamuwera went to the chief executive’s office located in the same building and opened the door using another duplicate key.

He stole US$1 816 which was kept inside a drawer, a 30 watts solar flood light black in colour, a 10 watts solar panel, an Elaine solar home kit which comprises of a control box, 4 LED yellow lights, a 12 watts panel and a yellow single control box.

The accused also helped himself to 1 LED light yellow in colour, an eco-matters torch and  its solar panel, a GD light gold in colour, a 12 watts solar panel and a 19 inch Jua black TV and went away unnoticed.

The value of goods stolen is US$1 816 and US$134 was recovered.

Saunyamuwera was ordered to return to court on July 7.
