A man with as insatiable sex appetite and went on to rape his step-daughter during her mother’s absence has appeared before the Harare Magistrates’ Courts.
Benard Mahembe, 52, of Waterfalls, has appeared before magistrate Marehwanazvo Gofa charged with rape.
The complainant in this matter is a 17-year-old.
The State, through prosecutor Pardon Dziva alleges that sometime in 2016, the complainant was asleep with her two young brothers.
She left the door unlocked so that Mahembe would enter as her mother had travelled.
Mahembe came back home and went where the girl was sleeping and grabbed her waist.
This woke her up and Mahembe threatened that he would stab her with a knife if she screamed.
He removed his clothes and removed the complainant’s skirt and pant and had unprotected sex with her without her consent.
The complainant revealed the matter to her mother when she returned home, leading the arrest of Mahembe.
Gofa remanded Mahembe in custody to tomorrow as the court wants to verify his address.
