The Zimbabwe Annual Film and Television Awards Zimbabwe's premier film and television awards ceremony have released the ZAFTAs 2023 Entry Guidelines.
The guidelines provide comprehensive information on how to submit entries for the upcoming awards ceremony, which is scheduled to take place on 2 December 2023.
The ZAFTA is the premier event that recognises and celebrates the outstanding achievements and contributions of actors, directors, producers, writers, presenters, technicians, and other industry players, connecting them to global audiences.
The ZAFTAs are held annually in Harare, Zimbabwe, providing a platform for showcasing the best of Zimbabwean talent to the world.
The Cinema Society of Zimbabwe said the aim of the awards is to promote creativity, collaboration, and excellence in the film and television industry.
“Our inaugural event is slated for 2 December 2023, and we promise an unforgettable experience for all attendees.
“The event will open with a glamorous red-carpet parade, followed by an awards ceremony complete with live musical entertainment. We are excited to showcase the best of Zimbabwean talent and to provide an opportunity for industry players to network, collaborate, and learn from each other.
“We are dedicated to creating a positive impact on the industry and the wider community by celebrating the power of film and television to inspire, educate, and entertain.
“We believe that the ZAFTAs will not only showcase Zimbabwe's unique voice and perspective but also help to raise the profile of the industry both locally and internationally,” CSZ said.
The awards categories for TV include Outstanding Television Series Awar, outstanding Cinematography for a Television Series, outstanding Directing for a Television Series, outstanding TV Actress, outstanding TV Actor, outstanding TV Presenter, outstanding Lifestyle Programme Award, outstanding Current Affairs Programme Award and outstanding Television Documentary Series.
Some of the categories for film are Outstanding Actor in a Feature Film Award, outstanding Feature Film Award, outstanding Actress in a Feature Film Award, outstanding Performance in the Diaspora Award, outstanding Performance in the Diaspora Award (Global), outstanding Writing for a Feature Film Award, outstanding Achievement in Directing Award, outstanding Achievement in Cinematography Award and outstanding Achievement in Production Design Award.
