Police have linked dead suspect Trymore Bondamakara and his accomplices to two other armed robbery cases in Harare.
“The suspects are also linked to an armed robbery case which occurred on 5th October 2022 at a bank along Churchill Road, Gunhill…. stealing a special .22 revolver, Vivo cellphones and two empty Chubb safes.. and theft case… on 6 September 2022 at Edurata Investments.. in which US$110 000.00 was stolen.”
Police said that investigations are ongoing to clear all the cases in which the suspects are linked.
Bondamakara died in a shootout with police in Epworth on Wednesday night.

“The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirm the death of Trymore Bondamakara during a shootout with the police in Epworth and the arrest of Kelvin Marimo, 42, and Osinenge Zvomuya, 36, in connection with a robbery case which occurred on 7th October 2022,” reads the police statement.
Police said a fourth suspect identified as Bibience Bondamakara and 5 more unidentified suspects are still at large.
Police indicated that the shootout occurred when CID Homicide detectives confronted Trymore Bondamakara and Kelvin Marimo after receiving information that linked the duo to the ABC robbery.
Zvomuya was tracked down to Madziwa in Mashonaland Central where he had bought a stand worth US$6 thousand from his US$25 thousand cut.
The gang stole over US$1 million and jewellery worth US$ 250 thousand from ABC Auctions.
Police said that they recovered a Toyota Aqua Reg number AFP 3293, and jewellery items in Solomio Ruwa.
