2 women in court for fraud

Two women have been taken to court by their boss over changing prices and undercharging some products when they sold them.

Rumbidzai Zimunya, 22, of Parkton and Rudo Masaiti, 27, of Dzivaresekwa Extension, appeared before magistrate Dennis Mangosi facing fraud allegations.

The State, through prosecutor Zororai Nkomo, alleges that from August 19, 2023 to August 25, 2023 at around 1600 hours at Corner Nelson Mandela Avenue and Chinhoyi Street in Harare, either Zimunya or Masaiti or one of them would change prices of phones they sold to customers and undercharged other items.

They would then surrender money to the manager, the price on the sale sheet would be lesser from those they submitted.

A stock take by the complainant showed the anomalies, leading to the arrest of the two.

The value that of items that was prejudiced was US$1 733.

The two were ordered to appear in court on September 18 for a trial date.
