The 20-year-old Thandolwenkosi Ndlovu, who killed street kids and took their body parts has been ordered to appear in court on September 21, impending indictment.
Ndlovu, who made headlines recently for killing street kids by crushing their heads using stones and concrete blocks, appeared before magistrate Ethel Chichera at the Harare Magistrates’ Courts.
The State alleges that on August 28, at around 0000 hours, Ndlovu went to the now-deceased, Emmanuel Godfrey, 25, who was asleep on a pavement near Chinengundu Building at Corner George Silundika Avenue and Simon Muzenda Street in Harare.
He allegedly crushed his head using a concrete block and Godfrey died instantly. After that he went on to cut open his stomach and took some body parts yet to be established and went away.
Later around 0800 hours, the body of Godfrey was discovered and the matter was reported to the police.
On August 31, Ndlovu who seemed to use the same way in perpetrating the heinous crimes went to an unknown street kid who was asleep at Corner Inez Terez and Robert Mugabe Road in Harare.
He allegedly crushed the now deceased’s head using a concrete block and he died after that. The body was discovered by a passer-by who reported the matter to the police.
Ndlovu carried on with his abominable acts, on September 2, at around 1100 hours, Sabelo Masheo Dube, 33, was asleep behind Rainbow Towers at Corner Samora Machel and Rekai Tangwena Road and Ndlovu suddenly appeared there.
He stood beside him and Dube identified him as a fellow vagrant.
Dube asked him what he wanted but Ndlovu was only smiling without saying anything and he told him to leave before returning to sleep.
Minutes later, Dube was attacked on the head by a boulder, he got up and saw Ndlovu picking up the same boulder to smash him again.
Luckily for him, he managed to run away but sustained a deep cut on the forehead. The matter was latter reported to the police.
On September 3, at around 0100 hours, Ndlovu’s reprehensible acts did not end there, he allegedly went to another street kid who was sleeping at Corner Nelson Mandela Avenue and Seventh Street in Harare.
He used a big stone to smash the now-deceased’s head and after realising he had died, he tried to cut off his private part and later fled from the scene.
The body of the now-deceased was seen by a passer-by who made a report to the police.
The following day, at around 0100 hours, Ndlovu went to Kutenda Chisanduro and another male street kid.
The two were asleep in a bushy area near Mupedzanhamo, Corner Cripps Remembrance Road in Mbare.
He crushed the two’s heads with two concrete blocks and they died instantly.
Ndlovu slit open their stomachs and took yet to be established internal organs before leaving the scene.
The bodies were discovered by a passer-by who reported the matter to the police.
On the same date, the police were given information linking Ndlovu to the offences, leading to his arrest near Simon Mazorodze flyover in Harare.
Blood-stained clothes which he wore were recovered by the police.
