Kembo Mohadi has bounced back as one of the country’s two the Vice Presidents following his swearing-in at State House yesterday, along with Dr Constantino Chiwenga earlier today.

Mohadi quit his post two years back following allegations of misconduct, resulting in the country operating with one Vice President after Mohadi quit following claims that he lured different young women for sex.

Despite stepping down, Mohadi remained active within Zanu PF and continued to fulfil important national duties.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s decision to reappoint him as deputy president and second secretary at a Zanu PF elective congress indicated that, despite the scandal, Mohadi would return to his position in the event of Mnangagwa winning the 2023 harmonised Elections.

Mohadi, a retired soldier and a veteran of Zimbabwe’s liberation war, previously held various ministerial positions under the late former president Robert Mugabe. He assumed the role of vice president in 2017 following Mugabe’s removal from power.
