Bata golf tournament benefits underprivileged at SOS

Golf Tournament - Chatham-Kent Police Service

A golf tournament hosted by Bata Show Company in Gweru got Yolanda Mubaiwa and Sakhile Ndiweni celebrating victory as they came out the best in their categories.

The event was a privilege for the disadvantaged children at SOS children’s Homes as it raised money for their welfare.

Simon Mutisya, the Bata country manager, told of how the charitable deed is their way of doing philanthropic work towards the society.

In September, we celebrate Founder’s Day across the globe with a focus on one of Bata’s core values - improving the lives of the less privileged.

“We have partnered with SOS Children’s Home through our flagship CSR project, the Bata Children’s Program. For every shoe purchased this month, Bata Zimbabwe will donate part of the revenue to SOS Children’s Villages in the country.

“This shall be the first phase of our mentoring program, while the second phase will initiate a mentoring program which shall educate young people on how to be good citizens of the world,” he said.
