15 cheat death in Munhenzva bus accident

At least 15 people were injured in an accident which occurred at the 20 kilometre peg along Tokwe-Mhandamabwe road on Sunday night when the driver of a Munhenzwa bus with 33 passengers on board tried to avoid hitting a herd of cattle which was on the road.

As a result, the bus veered off the road before overturning and landing on its right side.

Police confirmed the accident on X wall.

“The ZRP confirms a road traffic accident in which 15 people were injured when a Munenzva bus with 33 passengers on board veered off the road before overturning and landing on its right side at the 20 kilometre peg along Tokwe-Mhandamabwe Road on 29/10/23 at around 2230 hours.”

The injured are admitted at Chivi District Hospital.

In Chegutu, a 27-year-old man Shepherd Mangwiro, was murdered at Mupfure River on Friday by eight suspects who hit him with a canoe, resulting him drowning in the river.

Mangwiro was swimming across the river in an attempt to flee from the murderers who were pursuing him following a heated argument over a woman. 

The body was retrieved from the river on Sunday.

Meanwhile in Harare, 28-year-old Tinotenda Rusere was arrested for bribery after offering US$70 cash to the police for the release of Deon Nyakuremba from police custody.

Nyakuremba was arrested on Tuesday after being found in possession of 15 sachets of dagga, two twists of dagga, one bottle of Benylin, two bottles of Adco Salter Pyn Syrup and one bottle of Histalix.
