Rhumba group Insimbi Zezhwane on Saturday night walked away with a BMW car after getting more votes in the people’s choice awards at the Roil Bulawayo Arts Awards held at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair.
The group’s leader, Meluleki “Brema” Moyo, expressed his appreciation of the recognition.

Insimbi Zezhwane lost leaders Elvis “MaEli” Mathe and Thembinkosi “Maviri” Mpofu in a road traffic accident in August this year.
“We thank you all for the support we are getting as a group, we promise to produce more music for you to enjoy,” Moyo said.
Voting for the people’s choice award was done through ballot papers on the day of the event.
The group also walked away with the Outstanding “Ma Eli” Tshibilika/ Rhumba act award against Amathonga Amahle, Godolude, Madlela and Clement Magwaza.
Among other winners, was NiteFreak’s “Premier GAO Remix”, for the outstanding song of the year and Club DJ, Black Umfolosi for the outstanding Imbube/ Acapella group act.
Anele Sithole won the Outstanding Male dancer, Musawenkosi Sibanda and Charmaine Mudau got the outstanding theatre actress award, Sekunjalo maAfrica won Outstanding Dance Ensemble, Zenzo Nyathi scooped the Outstanding Theatre Actor award, and Mbulelo Mpofu won the Outstanding Journalist award.
Mainly sponsored by Busisa Moyo’s United Refineries, through their Roil cooking oil brand, the Roil Bulawayo Arts Awards are meant to recognise and honour individual and collaborative artistic excellence in Bulawayo, Matabeleland South and North provinces as well as those from the region but are practicing around the world.
