As the campaign against corruption hots up in the country, national anti-graf body, the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission has arrested former Harare City Council Valuer and Estates Manager, Emmanuel Mutambirwa on allegations of criminal abuse of office.
Zacc confirmed the development in a statement this morning.
“Zacc has arrested Emmanuel Mutambirwa, former Harare City Council Valuer and Estates Manager, on allegations of criminal abuse of duty as a public officer,” read the statement.
“Mutambirwa allegedly connived with Stanley Ndemera (then HCC acting Finance Director), in May 2019, to sell a piece of land in Borrowdale West valued ZWL91 691 130.00 to Vitof Investments (Pvt) Ltd without seeking a Council resolution.”
According to Zacc, Mutambirwa connived with HCC acting Finance Director, Stanley Ndemera who is still at large.
Mutambirwa is expected to appear in court today..
