Police probe Freeman over armed robbery links

Zimdancehall musician, Freeman better known as Energy Sylvester Chizanga, is being interviewed by the Zimbabwe Republic Police over his alleged association with armed robbers.

In a statement, the police CID Homicide Division raised concern over the “robbery” song chanter’s relations with armed robbers who have wreaked havoc in the country.

This is not the first time that Freeman has been accused of being associated with robbery criminals.

In 2021, Charles Chirara, who performed bouncer duties for him was one of the four robbers short dead by ex-cop Joseph Nemaisa.

In January last year, Police Commissioner-General Godwin Matanga declared that law enforcement agents would not hesitate to shoot and kill all perpetrators of violent criminal activities to ensure members of the public live I n a peaceful and crime-free environment.
