Two students from Mufakose High 1 last week appeared before Harare magistrate Tafadzwa Miti after they were court cheating during an examination.

Beloved Chidakwa (19) and Tinashe Shambi (19) were charged with unlawful access to examination material.

The two were alleged to have had access to the 2022 Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (Zimsec) Mathematics Paper 1 before the examination started.

Chidakwa was caught by the invigilator, Zvikomborero Gomera, who took him to headmaster David Vurayayi.

Scanned copies of the paper and proposed answers which were being written on the same day were found on his phone.

Chidakwa implicated Shambi when he told the authorities they both had the same content on their phones.

Shambi was also arrested after the same content was found on his phone.

Chidakwa and Shambi were released on ZWL$15 000 bail each.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police is currently conducting investigations in connection with examination paper leakage and pre-circulation of the 2022 Ordinary Level ZIMSEC examination papers throughout the country.

11 cases have so far been reported to the police in some parts of the country.
