Wilbroad Tsuroh has retired as the Group Managing Director for Zimbabwe’s sole manufacturer of conveyor belts, General Beltings Holdings Limited, after serving the company for 19 successful years.

Tsuroh was replaced by Joseph Gunda on acting capacity effective January 1, 2024. Gunda is currently the General Manager for General Beltings.

Wilbroad joined SMM Holdings Limited as the General Manager for Cernol Chemicals,” read a notice by the company’s board.

The board hailed Tsuroh for leading the successful merger of Cernol Chemicals and General Beltings in 2005.

“Wilbroad steered the company from a loss-making entity to profitability through his able leadership, making General Beltings one of the surviving companies in Bulawayo.

“The Board wishes to announce the appointment of Mr. Joseph Gunda as the new Acting Managing Director for GB Holdings Limited with effect from 1 January, 2024. Mr. Gunda is not new to the Group as he is currently the General Manager for General Beltings and is familiar with the operations of the Group.

“We wish him well in his new appointment,” read the notice.

The mining industry, which is currently on a growth trajectory driven by a number of expansion projects as well as the development of new mines and minerals, is key to GB’s rubber division performance as demand from the sector continues to grow.
